Accommodation |
| Peter Mac has special rates with a range of nearby accommodation services for patients, families and carers. For advice on accommodation within walking distance of Peter Mac, please call the Social Work Department on (03) 9656 1031. |
Banking |
| A Commonwealth Bank of Australia ATM is located on the outside of the hospital in Lansdowne Street. EFTPOS facilities are available in the pharmacy (upper ground level) and the Cashier’s Office (next to the reception desk on the ground floor). |
Cafe |
| The cafe is located on the ground floor of the Smorgon Family Building and sells a range of light meals, snacks, drinks, confectionery, newspapers and magazines. Opening hours: Monday – Friday 7.00 am to 6.00 pm Weekends and Public Holidays 9.00 am to 4.00 pm There are vending machines for snacks and drinks located on the ground floor of the hospital near the main entrance and the ground floor of 10 St Andrews Place. |
Car Parking |
| A limited number of car parks for patients and their visitors are available within the Peter Mac Car Park (enter from Lansdowne Street). Metered street parking is available surrounding Peter Mac and an alternative car parking facility operates from St Andrews Place. |
Child Minding |
| Peter Mac does not have child minding facilities, however, if you are experiencing difficulty in arranging childcare, your Social Worker may be able to assist on 03 9656 1031. |
Flowers |
| Please note that flowers and potted plants are not permitted in Ward 2 or the Intensive Care Unit for patient safety reasons. |
Meditation |
| Group meditation is held in the Place of Peace every Monday and Thursday at 11am for one hour. All patients, including outpatients, their relatives or friends are welcome to participate in meditation regardless of the level of experience. For more information contact the Pastoral Care Department on 03 9656 1301. |
Pastoral Care |
| The role of a Pastoral Carer is to promote the spiritual health and wellbeing for all Peter Mac patients, their relatives and friends. The department provides an on-call service 24 hours a day, seven days per week. More information is available on pastoral care here. |
