| “There's a real feeling in the team that we've finally got melanoma on the run, but without enough money to continue pursuing it, sadly, the majority of patients with advanced melanoma will still lose their lives in less than a year.”- Associate Professor Grant McArthur, Head of Melanoma Research, Peter Mac. Charles Griffin is a successful businessman in his fifties who was diagnosed with melanoma three years ago. By the time he had the suspicious-looking mole on his head tested, the cancer had spread throughout his body, and – since melanoma is one of the most difficult cancers to combat once it has spread – he was fast running out of options and hope. Charles is a patient of Associate Professor Grant McArthur, one of Peter Mac’s melanoma experts. Thanks to a new melanoma treatment currently been tested here at Peter Mac, Charles is making remarkable progress towards a recovery. Despite some recent successes against cancer nearly 40,000 Australians die from the disease every year. Please send a special gift to help us raise $170,000 by 30 October to help Peter Mac keep cancer on the run. Your support is critical to our work, and we thank you. Donate now. |
