The Peter Mac Cup Breakfast
This event is the traditional warm up to the annual Peter Mac Cup between AFL rivals Carlton and Collingwood. The breakfast, held on the Wednesday before the Peter Mac Cup sees the clubs, their presidents, coaches and players come together for some healthy rivalry, Peter Mac awareness-building and a vigorous dose of fundraising!
Breakfast is served at Zinc at Federation Square to a crowd of over 400. Many of the tables are purchased by corporate supporters – of both clubs and of Peter Mac. 2009 saw Brian Taylor as Master of Ceremonies, hosting an entertaining panel discussion featuring Mick Malthouse, Stephen Kernaghan, Brett Rattan, Chris Judd, Scott Pendlebury and Gary Pert. Prof Rod Hicks of Peter Mac, gave an insightful presentation on the PET technologies that are improving cancer treatments. The Breakfast raised over $90,000 for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation. Our thanks to the Carlton and Collingwood Football Clubs for their continued support.
