Clare Oliver Challenge

The Clare Oliver Challenge invites you to 'Ban the Tan this summer' - helping to keep your skin safe while raising funds for urgently needed melanoma research.

The Clare Oliver Challenge will take place from Monday 21st December 2009 to Sunday 31st January 2010.

By taking on the Clare Oliver Challenge, you're making the following pledge:

1. I will not get burnt;

2. I will avoid any deliberate tanning through sunbaking or using a solarium;

3. When the UV is 3 and above, I'll protect my skin in line with
SunSmart advice:

  • SLIP on sun protective clothing that covers as much of my body as possible.
  • SLAP on a broad brimmed hat that shades my face, neck and ears.
  • SLOP on SPF 30+ broad spectrum water resistant sunscreen, liberally to dry skin, at least 20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours when outdoors. Never use sunscreen to extend my time in the sun.
  • SEEK shade.
  • SLIDE on sunglasses - make sure they meet the Australian Standard.

4. I will help raise funds for urgently needed melanoma research.

So sign up today, create your online fundraising page and start spreading the word that you're 'Banning the Tan this summer!' All funds raised will support melanoma research.

Clare Oliver said "I choose life. I choose to be fair." Her message was simple. No tan is worth dying for.
