The Central Cancer Library (CCL) provides library resources and services to support Peter Mac's commitment to integrated cancer treatment, research and education.

Central Cancer Library resources and facilities are available to all staff.

External access is provided through
CancerInform

The Central Cancer Library receives over 200 journal titles covering cancer, cancer research, palliative care and related areas. They are arranged on the shelves in alphabetical order by title. Over 80% of the journals are available electronically through the AtoZ list.

The Central Cancer Library houses approx. 3,500 books and access to the collection is through the catalogue.
All Peter Mac staff are entitled to borrow books for 3 weeks. Restrictions apply to some items.

The Central Cancer Library collection is centralised to allow equitable access to information and avoid duplication of resources.

Departmental resources are purchased and catalogued by the library to ensure a central record exists (with costs charged back to the department).

Suggestions are welcome on any resources required.

The Central Cancer Library has private study areas which staff are welcome to use.

The information retrieval room in the library has five PC workstations. This library also houses a scanner, a network colour printer and a network laser printer. A photocopier is available in the Library.

The Central Cancer Library provides patient information on request from a variety of sources, resources and databases.

Health Professionals
The Central Cancer Library provides library resources and information to all divisions within Peter Mac.

Services
The Central Cancer Library supports research undertaken at Peter Mac, through its extensive traditional library collection and wide range of access to electronic sources.

A fast and effective document delivery service is available to all staff of Peter Mac.


Training
The Central Cancer Library conducts introductory sessions on library services and resources. Tours of the library, client education and assistance with searching the literature databases are provided. Instruction is provided on an individual or group basis. Please contact the library to discuss your requirements.

Reference
Library staff are able to assist with information retrieval, reference queries and literature searching.

Newsletters / Publications
Library E-News is published fortnightly to keep you informed of new developments in the Library.
The
