About our unit:
The Outpatients Services Unit encompasses nursing staff who work in outpatients specialist clinics, pathology and medical day unit (ground level) as well as radiotherapy nursing (lower level 2). These areas provide several services for both inpatient and outpatients, and includes Peter Mac patients and those from external hospitals.

Patient Group: all clinical tumour stream groups of ambulatory care patients.

Staffing Profile: a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to patient care, aiming to provide the best possible outcomes for patients, relatives and staff, is our goal. We benefit from:
  • Full time Nurse Manager.
  • Skill mix of RN Division 1 and 2 nurses
  • Autonomous role with excellent multidisciplinary approach to patient care supported by nurse coordinators, social workers, dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and pastoral care.
  • Access to a wealth of expertise and educational resources.

Support for Staff:
  • Competency based education and training
  • Access to in-service and other short courses through Nursing Education Department
  • Access to postgraduate studies program for RNs Division 1, conducted by Peter Mac with credit to Postgraduate Diploma through the University of Melbourne
  • Access to a Cancer Nursing Course for Division 2 Nurses.
